The European Digital Ocean Pavilion at the 3rd UN Ocean Conference (UNOC 3) will offer a unique opportunity for visitors to explore EU's advancements in ocean knowledge and monitoring. Through a series of events and exhibitions from 2 to 13 June, attendees can discover cutting-edge EU assets and technologies. Located in the Green Zone – The Whale, the Pavilion is organized by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS) in partnership with the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD), the Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE), and the Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA), with Mercator Ocean International as the implementation partner.
After COP21 and the Paris Agreement...the 3rd UN Ocean Conference
Co-hosted by France and Costa Rica, UNOC3 will take place in two different zones:
• The Blue Zone, a restricted area for governments and accredited organizations.
• The Green Zone, an open exhibition space welcoming civil society, academia, research institutions, artists, and businesses.
Within the Green Zone, the European Digital Ocean Pavilion will showcase Europe’s commitment to leveraging digital innovation for informed decision-making, sustainable ocean management, and global collaboration in ocean conservation.
The events and exhibitions in the Green Zone will align with UNOC3’s overarching theme: “Accelerating action and mobilizing all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean.”

The European Digital Ocean Pavilion is structured around three distinct spaces, each offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the EU’s achievements and capabilities in advancing ocean knowledge, particularly through cutting-edge digital technologies:

INSPIRE AREA
The INSPIRE area will host daily events with morning sessions on key ocean challenges and afternoon sessions showcasing the EU’s leadership in ocean governance.

DECIDE AREA
The DECIDE area is an interactive control centre offering decision-makers a hands-on experience of the EU Digital Twin Ocean, developed under the EU Mission “Restore Our Ocean and Waters.”
