A Committed Deep Dive into Ocean Decision-Making

The DECIDE AREA is an interactive control centre designed to provide the EU decision-makers community with a hands-on experience of the European Digital Twin Ocean developed as part of the EU Mission “Restore Our Ocean and Waters”. This immersive space enables users to explore real-time ocean monitoring, predictive modelling, and scenario-based policy simulations.

Through a unique experience using cutting-edge visualization tools and applications, the DECIDE zone will provide an overview of the vast possibilities offered by the European Digital Twin Ocean to aid decision-making, empowering decision-makers with practical insights and actionable strategy based on scientifically qualified solutions.

Who is this space for?

The DECIDE AREA is designed for those who shape, influence, and implement ocean-related policies, strategies, and innovations. Key participants include:

  • Policymakers & Government Officials: Engaging with real-time digital ocean data to support climate action, marine conservation, and sustainable development policies.
  • Industry Leaders & Maritime Professionals: Exploring AI-driven solutions for shipping, offshore wind energy, sustainable fisheries, and ocean-based industries.
  • Scientists, Researchers & Data Experts: Showcasing how digital twin technology supports cutting-edge research and ecosystem monitoring.
  • Environmental & Conservation Organizations: Using digital tools to advocate for marine protection, climate resilience, and sustainable ocean management.
  • Technology & AI Innovators: Contributing to the development of advanced ocean simulations and data applications for real-world impact.

What you will find?

Immersive Control Centre
A real-time operational space where policymakers and stakeholders can engage with live ocean data. Visitors will interact with:
  • AI-driven marine forecasts and climate impact assessments.
  • Ocean governance dashboards for maritime spatial planning and sustainable resource management.
  • Predictive modeling tools highlighting the role of ocean data in climate resilience strategies.
  • Features real-world applications from leading EU-funded projects
The installation of the Control Centre will allow visitores to explore "what-if" scenarios through advanced simulation-based applications, such as:
  • Coastal restoration strategies using Nature-Based Solutions.
  • Ship routing optimization for reducing carbon emissions.
  • Oil spill responses and their environmental impact.

Powered by the EU Digital Twin Ocean, this space demonstrates how digital tools can drive effective ocean management and policy-making.

The DECIDE AREA is designed not just to inform, but to empower. By offering state-of-the-art digital tools, immersive decision-making simulations, and data-driven insights, this space enables policymakers and stakeholders to make informed choices for a sustainable ocean future.
