Description
As a specialized agency of the United Nations, WMO is dedicated to international cooperation and coordination on the state and behaviour of the Earth’s atmosphere, its interaction with the land and oceans, the weather and climate it produces, and the resulting distribution of water resources.
Within its mandate in the areas of weather, climate and water, WMO focuses on many different aspects and issues from observations, information exchange and research to weather forecasts and early warnings, from capacity development and monitoring of greenhouse gases to application services and much, much more.
L’OMM est l’agence spécialisée des Nations Unies qui se consacre à la collaboration et la coopération internationale en ce qui concerne l’état et l’évolution de l’atmosphère terrestre, son interaction avec les terres et les océans, le temps et le climat qu’elle engendre et la répartition des ressources en eau qui en résulte.
Dans le cadre de son mandat dans les domaines de la météorologie, de la climatologie et de l’hydrologie, l’OMM s’attache à des sujets nombreux et variés : observations, échange d’informations,recherche, prévisions météorologiques, alertes précoces, développement des capacités, surveillance des gaz à effet de serre, prestation de services ciblés et bien d’autres.
