Objectives of the Call for expression of interests
- Foster collaborative dialogue with the EU and international Digital Ocean community, through a transparent and inclusive communication at the EU Digital Ocean Pavilion.
- Ensure that the EU Digital Ocean Pavilion serves as an essential platform and a meeting place towards inclusivity across the EU and world ocean community.
- Propose visibility options where institutions and individuals can engage, build, draw resources, and contribute to fostering their visibility, innovation and creativity.
Various phases of the Call for expression of interest
​​​During the first phase, from 13 November 2024 to 6 January 2025, organisations and projects will be invited to submit a simplified proposal by choosing one of the six visibility options listed below.
The organising committee will select proposals for the 3 Pavilion areas, Inspire, Engage and Decide. Successful proposals will be informed by email by 10 February 2025 and will have to provide their content depending on the options and choice selected. The timeline is shown further down the page.
Six visibility opportunities
Six options of visibility opportunities are listed below. There are several choices for each option, and combinations of options and within options are possible. Only Option1 requires your in-person participation at the UNOC2025/EU Digital Ocean Pavilion premises. Even if you are not attending the event in-person, your project or institution can benefit from visibility at UNOC2025/EU Digital Ocean Pavilion through Options 2-3-4-5-6.
OPTION 1:
Visibility within the INSPIRE AREA
- Design and organise a 1-hour high-level event.
- Design and organise a 2-hour high-level event.
- Participate in a workshop organised by others applicants.
- Design and organise a 30-min TEDx-like talk.
- Design and organise a 10min TEDx-like talk.
OPTION 2:
Visibility within the ENGAGE AREA
- Design, develop and implement a full scenography sub-area.
- Design and develop an ocean literacy tactile screen application (software).
- Send your institutional video to be displayed on the Word Cloud wall screen.
- Propose storytelling to be integrated into a larger scenography.
OPTION 3:
Visibility within the DECIDE AREA
- Design, develop and integrate your application into the EU Digital Twin Ocean, including front-end interfaces.
- Develop a video, showcasing your what-if-scenario, to be displayed through the DECIDE digital demo set up.
OPTION 4:
Visibility on social media before and during the event
- Receive our communication toolkit and participate in our communication campaign on social media (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Youtube)
OPTION 5:
Visibility on the event website
- Send us your project/institution's logo(s) and your website URL(s) to be displayed on the event website.
- Create and send us a video (1 min max, MP4) presenting your institute, that will be displayed on the event website.
OPTION 6:
Visibility at the EU Digital Ocean Pavilion press event
- We will publish Press Releases where your project or institutions can be visible.
