Science & Policy Manager
Ronnie Noonan-Birch is a marine socio-ecologist passionate about the link between ocean health and human well-being. She co-founded ECOP Canada, a national node of the UN Decade-endorsed ECOP Network Programme, which empowers Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOPs)—those within 10 years of their last degree working in ocean-related fields—to contribute meaningfully to sustainable ocean governance.
With a background in marine biology and environmental studies, Ronnie developed a blue economy framework aligned with the SDGs to assess equity, sustainability, and viability in ocean industries. Her work spans international and national ocean science-policy landscapes, and she is committed to advancing inclusive, science-based action through the UN Ocean Decade.
