As a Chancellor's Research Fellow, her research will focus on ocean deoxygenation on corals reefs and how naturally variable environments shape organisms' responses to declining oxygen and pH. Dr. Pezner earned her Bachelor's of Science in Environmental Science (summa cum laude) from UCLA with minors in Conservation Biology and Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences. She completed her Ph.D. in Oceanography at Scripps Institution of Oceanography (UC San Diego) as a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow.
