Lucie Cocqempot is a leading ocean science expert actively involved in strengthening coastal and marine observation systems, especially in support of global and equitable ocean monitoring. She co-chairs the OBPS Task Team on Standard Operating Procedures and Best Practices for Coastal Observations in Under-Resourced Countries and the Science Advisory Working Group of EuroGOOS. She also serves on the Steering Committee of AtlantOS, which supports the development of an integrated All-Atlantic Ocean Observing System. At the national level in France, she sits on the Executive Boards of the research infrastructure ILICO (Coastal Ocean and Seashore Observation), the ODATIS National Marine Data Center, and Ifremer's Department of Oceanography and Ecosystem Dynamics. Her research interests focus on marine observing networks, open science initiatives, and systemic approaches to coastal vulnerability, aiming to bridge scientific innovation and practical solutions for ocean sustainability.
