Massimiliano Rosso is a marine biologist and senior researcher at the CIMA Research Foundation in Italy, specializing in cetacean ecology and conservation. He has been conducting marine mammal research since 2003, with extensive field experience and leadership in international projects. Rosso is also an adjunct professor at the University of Genoa and serves as a national expert for both the Pelagos Sanctuary and ACCOBAMS. His work focuses on deep-diving species like Cuvier’s beaked whale, employing innovative, non-invasive monitoring techniques such as drones and environmental DNA to assess cetacean health and habitat use.
